Independent community fork

A community launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition.

PCL-NEXT is an open-source, community-maintained fork of Plain Craft Launcher. It helps players manage instances, mods, and game files, and sign in with their own Microsoft account to launch a legitimate copy of Minecraft.

Not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or the original PCL maintainers. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

FEATURES

Built for everyday Minecraft players.

Practical tools, a focused interface, and no unnecessary data collection.

Microsoft sign-in

Sign in through Microsoft's device-code flow. The launcher never asks for or handles your Microsoft password.

Instance management

Create and manage separate Minecraft instances, with per-instance settings, mods, and game directories.

Mods and modpacks

Browse compatible resources from Modrinth and CurseForge, install modpacks, and keep local mods organized.

Game downloads

Download Minecraft: Java Edition files through Mojang metadata and public download endpoints. The project does not redistribute game assets.

Local profiles

Use a local offline profile when you do not need an online session. Offline mode does not contact Microsoft or Minecraft authentication APIs.

Open and transparent

The source code is public, tokens stay on your computer, and the current build does not include telemetry or analytics.

AUTHENTICATION

Standard Microsoft and Xbox authentication.

Online sign-in follows the official Microsoft identity, Xbox Live, XSTS, and Minecraft Services flow. The launcher uses a public client application and does not use a client secret.

Authentication tokens are stored locally in encrypted launcher settings. We do not operate a login server and do not receive your tokens, password, or Minecraft profile.

  1. 1
    Microsoft device code

You approve sign-in in your browser. The launcher never receives your password.

  2. 2
    Xbox Live and XSTS

The Microsoft token is exchanged for the Xbox identity required by Minecraft services.

  3. 3
    Minecraft ownership check

The launcher verifies game ownership and retrieves the player profile through Microsoft's official endpoints.

  4. 4
    Launch locally

Your session is stored locally and used to launch the game. No account credentials are sent to this website.
